A WEE NOTE FROM ME
Welcome to Send Your Love Aotearoa! 💗
It started in 2017 with one Christmas card and a simple idea: to help someone feel remembered at Christmas. What happened next was incredible. Families, schools, workplaces, community groups and people all over New Zealand got involved, and thousands upon thousands of cards full of love found their way to people who needed them.
Back then, Jayden and I were doing our 100 Days of Kindness. He was my little five-year-old boy, wondering how we could be kind without spending money. He's now 14, 6'3", and growing into a funny, kind-hearted young man I'm so proud of. It makes me smile that his little question helped spark something so many people have since made their own.
COVID put Sending Love on pause. Since then, I've been focusing on being a mum, navigating a few personal challenges and getting on with everyday life. It's been a few years, but I'm really excited to bring Sending Love back this Christmas. 💗
With so much of our lives happening through screens, there’s something really special about receiving a handwritten card. Knowing someone took the time to write it. Having something you can hold onto and perhaps tuck away to read again another day.
For some, it might be the only card they receive. For others, it’s a lovely surprise that brightens their day.
Whether you write one card, bring people together to write a few, or help collect and deliver them in your community, every card matters.
Let’s send some love across Aotearoa this Christmas! 💗
Love, Hannah x
